Jacques Loeuille is a French filmmaker born in 1983.

 

He graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts and Le Fresnoy – National Studio of Contemporary Arts (2011). He writes and directs feature films, shown in museums and on European public television, such as Marguerite Yourcenar – Alchemy of Landscape (2013); Rubens – Painting Europe (2017); Threats in the North Sea (2018); Victor Hugo – A Century in Revolution; Kupka – Pioneer of Abstract Art (2016); The Secrets of Modigliani (2020); Birds of America (2022); Le Temps des fous (2024); The Ambassadors (2025)…

 

His films have been selected in more than a hundred film festivals such as the Deauville American Film Festival, Colcoa French Film Festival in Hollywood (Los Angeles), International Documentary Film Festival (CPH:DOX), The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), The Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), etc.

 

Jacques Lœuille has been awarded a Grand Prize at the Cinéma Planète International Film Festival, Metz, European Institute of Ecology (2021); a Best Documentary Film Award at the ANSFF International Film & Art Festival, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2025); a Jury Prize at the Rennes-le-Château International Film Festival (2023); an Audience Award at the Porquerolles International Film Festival (2022); a Silver Award at the France Nature Environment Festival, Grenoble (2019); a Best Feature-Length Documentary Screenplay Award at the ANSFF International Film & Art Festival, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2021); a Best Art Documentary Award at the Art Movie Film Festival, Los Angeles, USA; and a Special Jury Mention at the Acharnière Festival, Lille, France (2019). Best Short Film Award from the Figueira International Film Festival, Portugal (2019); Jury Prize from the Blue Danube Film Festival, Vienna, Austria (2019); COAL Art and Environment Prize , Paris (2018), etc.

 

In addition, Jacques Lœuille has collaborated with museums such as the Louvre, the Centre Georges Pompidou, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Louvre-Lens Museum, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, the LaM Museum of Contemporary Art in Lille, the CAPC in Bordeaux, etc.
